More things Ive learned so far:
-being the "funny" guy on the tour . . . annoying in any country
-asking for your steak "mediano raro" does NOT mean medium rare. It means medium strange
-when the waiter asks you how you like the way that steak was cooked, do NOT give him the "A-Ok" symbol that we do in America. Thats the equivalent of giving him the middle finger.
-When you are caught in an anti Israeli/America rally, do NOT say "Shalom Yall"
-This next one is embarrassing. Even for me. If you see a bidai (sp?) for the first time in your life, and have no idea what it is, do NOT lean over it and turn the handle.
-If you happen to do the above, do NOT tell your travelling mates what happened. Especially if one of those is your girlfriend. She WILL make fun of you.
At the top of the highlight reel would have to be Che Guevaras house, some cool dance-theater stuff, and hopefully Snakes on a Plane tomorrow. Will be getting together with the Pipe Major of the BA bagpipe band on Tuesday.
-meeting with the pipe major of ANY pipe band while you are on vacation is nerdy in ANY country
Trying to look as non Middle Eastern and American during the rallies around South America. In the short time I have been here, I have literally stumbled across 4 or so. They all seem to be peaceful, so so far we haven{t really been scared.
Hope all is well with everyone. Katie, Luana and I send our love.
Be on the lookout for some pictures soon!

Thanks for sharing all wonderful embracing experiment you are having with us. I can relate myself pretty good to those. Because when we moved to us we had so many embracing moment which made us laugh for long time after the incident. That's why is good to be an adventurism and see the world if we can. I am so happy you guys having fun. Take care and be safe.Love Mommy ezy
Arash,
I love your postings! You and Katie are both such good writers - very witty and expressive.
I also enjoy your mom's comments - I hope I get to meet her some day. :)

I finally got the link and I have enjoyed reading your postings. I am learning a lot second hand from your lists of things to avoid. I hope you realize that now we all know about the bidet thing too and it is our swarn duty to relentlessly remind you of it at every staff meeting or public event! Also - found a bride for Mike, yet??
Happy travelin' you Modern Nomads!

Ha ha, Arash is a nerd in any language.
Glad you guys are having such a blast.
Don't forget to order some "fresca cas" when you get to CR. Cas is the national fruit of Costa Rica (its English name is the Costa Rican Guava...but it tastes more like a pear with a hint of citrus). It's the bestest thing I ever drank. Ever.
I've actually done the bidet thing...on a date.
