I am proud to say that I am participating in the 3rd Annual FOCAS Dog & Cat Bowlathon to help raise money for FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters), which is where I work. The bowling team I'm competing with will probably wish to throw me out by the end due to my utter lack of bowling skills, but lucky for everybody, the fundraiser has nothing to do with how well I can bowl. :)
I am asking friends and family to help our cause by donating (every little bit helps!) to our team. All proceeds from this event go toward reducing euthanasia in the San Diego County Animal Shelters, and we all know that's something worth giving for. I know that anybody who has ever adopted a shelter
pet, visited an animal shelter, or just loves the companionship of their pet knows that a pet's life makes such a beautiful difference in our lives, and makes our world a smilier place to be.
This scruffy little guy is Chevy; he was hit by a car and brought into the shelter, and FOCAS was able to provide him with the surgery he needed to get better. He is currently in a foster home with one of our volunteers, and undergoing physical therapy to regain his strength. Incidentally, Chevy still needs a home- but for now, we're just happy to have been able to fix up his legs and get him well. This is jus one example of the amazing work FOCAS does every day.
